32 hours

I've been up for 32 hours straight now. Try as I might, I just can't sleep last night. I actually stayed at the couch in the living room coz my room was just so lonely. My body is screaming for sleep already but my mind just can't. Everytime I'm on the verge of finally falling asleep, someone would text or call and that would wake me up all over again. So I just packed the remaining of my stuff and waited for sunrise.

I had a very stressful check-in. I had to argue with the Northwest/Delta guy coz he was charging me $50 for each luggage coz it was over 50 pounds...but I was flying Business and I insisted that it should be free up to 70 pounds. He even asked his supervisor to confirm. I was so tired and stressed out already so I just paid but Fro insisted on seeing a copy of the policy which states so since I was so insistent that it's there in the NWA site that i'm entitled to 2 70-pound and 1 40-pound luggage for free. What's the use of upgrading? While his supervisor tried to get a copy of the policy thingy, Fro was trying to search the NWA site thru his fone regarding the baggage limit rules but for some reason, there wasn't anything specific coming up for international business class flights to Asia.

After what seemed like eternity, I so wanted to go through security already so we started to leave. And that's when the supervisor came with a printout of the policy. She started pointing out that for coach, anything in excess of 50 pounds will be charged an additional $50. And I was like, I don't care about coach coz I'm flying business. And she goes, 'oh, so you're business class? then you're right, you're entitled up to 70 pounds each' ANAK NG!!!! Apparently, the guy at the counter told her that I was just flying coach despite my insisting that business class is entitled to 3 free luggages and all. And hello, nakasulat kaya sa boarding pass ko na Business! Lech! I was so taray already and I think I kinda scared off Fro, Ros and Abel coz this was the first time that they saw my 'grouchy Smurfette' side. Hihihi.

Kasi naman. Hindi ba daw i-check ang nakalagay sa boarding pass and he wasn't listening to me. And hello, I was able to check in 3 luggages for free (without the overweight thingy) eh business class lang kaya ang pwedeng 3 luggages! Grrrr. I was really pissed off and my eyebrows were raised the whole time and I was so bitchy already. In fairness, the supervisor apologized and they immediately voided my overweight payment, but not after wasting about half an hour arguing that I WAS RIGHT!

Please, any day but today. Especially when I haven't had sleep for 32 hours! Finally, when everything got sorted out, I had to calm down myself as I said goodbye to my friends. And that's when it finally dawned on me that this is it...this is my last day in Minnesota. This is not how I planned to go, but unexpected things happen. So for now, my 2009 Minnesota adventure is complete. Not the best one (just until the last few days) but just the same, as memorable as can be.

I'm about to board the plane in about half an hour and I'm bracing myself. I'm taking advantage of the free wine at the lounge in the hopes that I can finally get some sleep. But I'm kinda doubtful. For now, I'll just get myself home and take it from there.
