I cannot leave California without meeting up with my good friend, Cristy, so our last weekend in the West Coast was reserved for girl-bonding which meant shopping, pigging out, catching up, chika galore and simply celebrate our 15+ years of friendship. This is the 4th year in a row that we are reunited in California and this is one tradition that we'd like to keep for as long as we can :)
Our day started with Cristy and Shane picking me up at Riverside to have breakfast at the nearby Ihop with my mom. Since we were at the other end of where we usually go (specifically LA and the Valley where Cristy now lives), we decided to do our shopping at the Victoria Gardens and Ontario Mills. One challenge we had was to think of where else to go this time. We've pretty much covered all the must sees already (not just once but several times as well) - Disneyland, Universal, Hollywood, Sta. Monica, Beverly Hills, Burbank, Glendale, The Grove, Camarillo, Sta. Catalina...
So this time around, Cristy booked ourselves for a different experience at Medieval Times. It was indeed a nice change - a live medieval show (complete with knights and horses) which comes with a 'medieval' dinner (we got to eat with our hands! no utensils!). The show was entertaining (oh, and the blue knight was a piece of eye candy!) and the food was also good. A good experience if you'd like to try something new.
We made a quick stop to watch the finals of the SFC basketball game in Brea(or was it somewhere else...I forgot). Too bad Cristy and Shane's chapter lost but it sure was one exciting game! We arrived at Cristy's place in the Valley close to midnight already. But of course, we didn't sleep right away. We had a good dose of girltalk before we finally hit the sack a few hours later.
Cristy was the one who introduced me to korean barbeque last year and we just had to have it again. And that's why we were at Maroo for Sunday lunch. I still don't like kimchi though but Korean BBQ is luv :)
Our last stop to end our 2010 Reunion was at the Getty Museum. It was my first time to go here and the beautiful spring afternoon was just perfect for us to enjoy the gardens.
It was one great weekend with Cristy and Shane and I'm sure looking forward to what we'll do for our next reunion (hopefully by then, they'll be Mr. and Mrs. Magleo already) :)
