We didn't do much on our first day since we were pretty tired from the long drive, but we did go to the the nearby Red Rock casino with Tita Elmie for after dinner drinks and some slot machines.
The next day, Tito Joven took us to the Las Vegas Outlet Mall. I just bought another Coach bag the day before at the Stateline outlet (hihihi) so I kinda laid off from shopping this time around (imagine that!). Come night time, we went to the Strip. There's nothing like seeing Vegas at night with all the lights...it's like being in a totally different place!
First stop was at the Bellagio and we were just in time to see the fountain show. Amazing! I can watch this over and over again and not get tired of it.
The temperature surprisingly dropped and it was a bit chilly to walk outside so we went inside Caesers Palace and ended up having drinks and dessert at Cheesecake Factory. Come Wednesday, Tita Joan arrived and we checked in at the Excalibur right on the Strip. It was a good choice, giving us the whole afternoon (and night!) to go out and have fun! We left the oldies at the hotel while me and my brother were set to explore more what Sin City has to offer. The last time I was in Vegas was back in 2001 (for some reason, I never found myself going back in all of those trips I made to the US these past years) so I was pretty excited as well to see the city all over again.
It was at around 5pm when we went out. The weather was really nice, a perfect afternoon to walk around. We pretty much made our way through all the hotels by the Strip.
From The Luxor, New York New York, MGM Grand...
the M&M store...
and all the way to Paris, Bellagio and Caesars...
The only thing was, the temperature dropped (again!) to the 50s and it was really cold and windy! I was only in a skirt but good thing I brought a hoodie along so I pretty much survived the rest of the night. We didn't notice that we've been walking around for about 5 hours already (with all the hotel stops and of course photo ops!) so before heading back to Excalibur, we decided to grab dinner. And just on time, we were by Caesars and Serendipity was just calling us.
I've been hearing about their famous Frozen Hot Chocolate and there's no better time to try it out but now. And it was absolutely delicious...and sinful! But what the heck, I deserved it after burning all those calories from all the walking, not to mention I'll probably burn it away as well with our walk back. Hehehe.
It was close to midnight when we finally returned to the hotel and we were just so dead tired. We literally dropped to the bed and didn't have the energy to stand up anymore. But we were in Vegas and we were set to have an awesome time (not that we haven't had any yet but we should make the most out of our last night in the city). My brother and I still wanted to hit the slots and go out for drinks but decided to rest for a bit first.
Bad choice. The next thing we knew, it was already morning the next day! My mom and tita didn't wake us up anymore seeing how deep in sleep we were just after a few minutes we hit the bed. I guess we were really THAT tired. But nevertheless, we had a good time and we did make the most out of our 4 days in Vegas.
Since we still had a long drive ahead of us back to Califonia, we were out by noon. We finally arrived in Riverside at around 6pm. Vegas was fun and I'd love to go back. Next time (maybe next year?), I really need to watch at least one Cirque de Soleil show and truly experience the Vegas night life. Our first week is almost over and has been a blast! :)
