The Lost Hero

One sign that a book isn't that good, or rather isn't much to my liking, is when it takes me days to finish it. Falling asleep while reading it is also a red flag. I started The Lost Hero a few months ago - right when it came out. I was excited at first since it's a continuation of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series which I really loved. The first few chapters introduced the new characters - Jason, Piper and Leo. I got excited when Camp Half Blood came back to the story and the old characters resurfaced. But after the initial introduction, the story kinda dragged and though new Gods and Goddesses were introduced, it didn't give me the same excitement as the original series did. After several days of falling asleep once I start reading a couple of chapters, I took a break from it and it wasn't until just the other day that I picked it up again. I still had my apprehensions that this won't live up to all the hype but that changed when I reached the last few chapters. It wasn't until when the battle started that I got hooked into the story - I couldn't put it down! It was literally at the very last page when it all tied up together. Now I can't wait for the next book but it won't come out until Fall :( I still can't say if this is better than Percy Jackson and the Olympians (I'm still biased with Annabeth, Percy and Grover) but it shows promise that it will be a good series nonetheless :)
