Candle-lit dinner. Roses. Chocolates. Champagne. A romantic movie. A walk on the beach. Watching the sunset together. A violin serenade. The perfect first date, isn't it?
I've been to a number of first dates and each is different on its own. Of course during that time, you'd think it's the best...I honestly can't remember the details but what sticks is feeling 'kilig' all over and telling yourself that 'he's the one'. But of course, reality kicks in and you find yourself doing it all over again and the next time it happens, you'd again tell yourself that THIS is the best date ever.
But reality is, you can take away the flowers, the chocolates and all the cheesy-ness and yet it can still be the perfect first date as long as you're with the right person who knows how to make you smile and make your heart flutter over the simplest of things. I think the perfect first date is not how expensive the meal was, or how fancy the place is...it's being comfortable with each other and being able to just be yourself, not being afraid to show the real you. It's being able to talk about anything and being able to laugh WITH each other. It's not putting the best foot forward on that one occasion, but having no pretentions or hidden agenda. It's not making the first impression, but rather making a lasting one.
So may it be dinner in a fancy restaurant, or just a stroll in the mall (it's a plus if he'd actually go shopping with me...hihi) or even just spending an afternoon at Starbucks over frapuccinos, as long as that person makes me want to date him over and over again, and makes me feel that it's always the first date again and again, then THAT is the perfect first date :)
