packing up

I have 2 workdays left before I roll off and since I don't have a next project yet (as far as I know!), I'll be on bench in the meantime...in Eastwood! A lot of people had violent reactions when they learned that CoRE-XP will relocate to the Eastwood office in May, but it's actually an advantage for me - our condo is literally just across the Accenture building! As in isang tumbling lang, nasa office na ko! I'm still figuring out if I'll actually stay in the condo during weekdays starting next week or still go home to Las Pinas everyday (my brother will still go home everyday from the site in Quezon City anyway). I just don't like the idea so much of being alone but on the other hand, I don't have to go through traffic, I can wake up late and still be on time for work - if you call doing CBTs work...hahaha! Let's see how it goes...

So with the little time left, I started packing up my things. 8 years (my gad, has it been that long?!) worth of stuff is sure a lot and I can't bring them all home in one go. I started emptying my bin and I was surprised to see things in it which I didn't know I had to begin with. Hahaha! It was like a trip down memory lane - I still have ALL the notebooks I wrote in since 2002 and all the Starbucks planners since it first started! Not to mention my payslips (yes, we had hard copies of the payslips before), printed copies of PFFs from years ago (creating PFFs was way easier than writing up the AOs), hardcopies of ARTES, VL forms, and get this, the diskette (yes, DISKETTE!) which held my Lotus notes ID! - all of which are already obsolete now! My teammates were amazed with all the stuff I had and some even can't relate to them anymore (oo na, matanda na ko!). In fairness, I kept on telling them that I wasn't the only one who had those...si Ochie meron din ng lahat ng 'to! Hahaha! I can literally see how much things have changed since I started working in this company. Amazing!

I ended up giving away a couple of things to my teammates. I pretty much brought home my Bearista bears first and the knick knacks from my bin. I still have quite a lot left on my desk which I'll clean up next week...

I have to admit, I was a bit sad when I started packing up my stuff. And realizing that I won't be coming back to the same cube anymore quite hit me. But then again, I'm sure there's a whole lot more to look forward to. This is not the end, but just the beginning of something new :)
