shop. eat. drink.

When I finalized my trip to Minneapolis a few months back, Fro asked me what I wanted to do and I immediately said 'Albertville!'. Hahaha. Since I'll be flying home from here, I can now get that extra luggage which means an additional 50-lbs of retail merchandise! I've been holding off from shopping the past days, only getting a bag or 2 and very few pieces of clothing, and now, I can shop to my heart's content (and up to my credit card's limit that is). Yes, shopping really puts me on an all-time high.

Fro still needed to work today so we left not until around 11am which is lunch time in VA. The plan was he'd drop me off at the outlet, then he'd go find a coffee shop nearby and work while waiting for me. It was still sunny when we left St. Louis Park but it started to get cloudy and really dark as we approached Albertville. It started to drizzle when I was about to get out of the car and he asked if I'll be fine - um, this IS Albertville. I'll be more than fine rain or shine! Hahaha.

I started off at the left side (the area where Coach is at) and made my way around. My outlet experience wouldn't be complete without a visit to my favorite store. I was able to get a present for my mom and got the bag my sister wanted as well. And of course, I had to get something for myself! All the other bags I just bought from the other states were for office use so I wanted to get something casual this time. And I zeroed in on this new design:

Perfect for the weekends! I've already reached my bag quota for the year with this last purchase. I was able to get some tops, shirts, shoes and dresses at very good discounted prices (yes, I have to justify my 'splurge') and also bought presents for the people at home. About 3 hours after, I was done and very much happy - also, I can't carry the shopping bags anymore!

We got home close to 4pm already, leaving me with just enough time to rest (and for Fro to still finish his work) before we meet up Mommy (aka Scott) for dinner. It's burgers for dinner this time and Matt's Bar is the place - the home of the original Jucy Lucy!

We got there at around 7pm already and considering that it was raining, the place was still packed! Fro said it's really like that every time. We had a bit of a wait (about 10 mins) before we got a table which is just about right as Mommy arrived when we were about to sit down. It's so good to see Scott again! I was one happy daughter with my Mommy and Daddy! Hahaha.

I heard about the Jucy Lucy from some of my pinoy friends here in Minnesota and I just had to give it a try. It's basically just a cheeseburger but with the cheese inside the meat patty rather than having it on top. All three of us got the same thing with a basket of fries and cold glass of beer.

And I must say, it was pretty good for a very simple meal! Warning though, the melted cheese is really hot so you have to let it cool down a bit before biting into it. I just realized that I haven't eaten anything the entire day (all the shopping made me forget about hunger!) so I pretty much finished the entire burger. Yum!

We all headed back home for the second part of dinner - cheese dip and Shiraz! Ever since Fro introduced me to this, it's a must-have every time I'm at his place. For a very simple dish with just cheese (has to be Velveeta), beef and salsa (just mild for me please!), it is just so sinfully good. And it has to be paired with the right kind of chips - Tostitos' Scoops it is. So while Daddy busied himself in the kitchen, Mommy and I started with Game of Thrones. I've heard so many good reviews on this series (I actually have a copy of the entire first season) but I just don't have the time to watch it. And now is just perfect. Armed with our bowl of cheese dip, bag of chips and glass of Shiraz, it was the perfect 'family' bonding time :)

We called it a night at around midnight already. It was another fun day catching up with my good friends and tomorrow will again surely be a blast :)
