With the wedding over, we can finally relax! Tired from yesterday's festivities, it wasn't until noon that we checked out from the hotel and headed for today's agenda: crabbing at Oxnard and shopping at Camarillo. Two of my faves!
We were joined by Cristy's dad and older brother, and Shane's dad. The drive to Oxnard took close to an hour. I haven't eaten anything yet so I was really looking forward to our seafood lunch. When we finally arrived at Oxnard, we were greeted with this big enclosure with different types of fresh crabs where you can pick which ones you'd like to have. We got the spider crabs as they were the biggest and the way they cook it was really tasty.
While waiting for the crabs, we also got a plate of fried fish and scallops. I heart the scallops!
Then finally, our crabs arrived...all 10-lbs of it served with melted butter and lemons. Yummy!
We were ready to get our hands dirty...
I'm glad I didn't eat back at the hotel. The wait was worth it. After about half an hour, this is all that was left:
Satisfied and very much stuffed from our lunch, we then headed to Camarillo to burn off all those crabs with some shopping. I'm still on restricted shopping mode though. But of course, I couldn't pass up on my favorite bag store and sure enough, I didn't leave empty-handed:
I was also able to get some tops at Esprit and jeans at Banana Republic - just a few since my luggage is already very close to the 50-lbs limit.
We got back to the Valley at around 10pm already. Cristy and I stayed up still for a couple of hours as we looked through pictures of the wedding, reminisced how everything started and marveled that she is now Mrs. Cristy Jison Magleo :)
Good times indeed! :)
