good to be back!

Minneapolis will always be 'home' for me and I make it a point to drop by every time I'm in the US. This time around, it's the last leg of my trip and Fro was kind enough to adopt me for a few days :) I arrived at around midnight last night and he welcomed me with, of all things, a bag of rice - a long overdue MAEAP thing. Hahaha! After not seeing each other for almost 2 years (has it been that long?!), it was a really nice reunion.

Leave it to him to be all organized (and geeky...hihihi), he actually came up with a calendar of the things we'd be doing for the week:

Our activities pretty much fall into 3 categories: eat, shop and drink! Right on, first order of business is lunch at Benihana. It's a must that I start off my Twin Cities vacay with sushi!

We got our favorites - the Caterpillar Roll, Vegas Roll (hold off the jalapeƱo for me though)...

...and of course, the Mystic Roll (it's off the menu but just ask for it and Tommy will make it)!

We ended the meal with some Banana Tempura with Green Tea ice cream - the only 'tea' that I actually like. Yummy!

Fro was technically working from home this week so we headed back home after lunch where I just rested (the past few days in Cali have been pretty tiring!) while he worked. We then headed to the Mall of America late in the afternoon to have my fix of shopping - no holding back this time! But first, we got some Cheesecake Fantasy ice cream from Coldstone...I so missed this!

Fro 'parked' himself at Caribou to work (again!) while I do my thing (aka shopping). About 2 hours (and a couple of shopping bags) later, we met up and headed to Hooters for dinner - I really like their wings and I've been craving for it for quite some time now.

This made me miss the after-movie ritual I had with my former roomie - hot wings, curly fries and beer.

We got home at around 10pm already. Thanks to the calendar (yes, it is indeed useful!), we were able to cross off quite a lot from our list - a pretty good start! Looking forward to tomorrow! :)
