After pulling off 2 late nights (still with no proper sleep for me yet!), we had the luxury to sleep in late today and start a bit late. The only thing we had planned for is to meet up with Normie for lunch at Brooklyn, which is not until around 2:30pm.
Since we were pretty much free for the morning, we went back to the Rockefeller Center for a leisurely sunny morning stroll (it was raining when we went here yesterday)...
And as promised, we had to go back for breakfast at La Maison du Chocolat. This time, we each had our own cup of thick, creamy, hot chocolate topped with fresh whipped cream of course - the waiter was kind enough to add mini chocolate balls to our whipped cream! (the next table who ordered the same just got the plain whipped cream with no extra toppings...hihihi).
Our next stop was Central Park but we were side-tracked as we were caught in the middle of the Pulaski Day Parade.
I went further down the street as the parade was still ongoing and took a picture of St. Patrick's Cathedral:
Finally, we headed down to Central Park. We had a couple of places to check out in our list but because we were already running a bit late, we ended up just going to Strawberry Fields and catching a glimpse of the Bow Bridge...
Oh, Michelle and I want to have a bench just like this!
Our trip to Brooklyn was quite stressful since the subways changed routes for the weekend. We ended up just taking a cab to the highlight of our day: lunch at Peter Luger! The earliest reservation available was already at 2:45. Given that we just called yesterday, we were already lucky to even get a table for the day. Rated with a Michelin star and known as one of the best steak houses in New York, we were in for a treat!
For starters, there was complimentary bread and butter...
then we ordered a plate of fresh tomatoes and onions...
and a slab of bacon each...not your ordinary bacon indeed!
And for the main course, medium rare Porterhouse for three...
with creamed spinach and hash browns...yummy!
The steaks were really big (the order for 3 is actually more than enough for 4) and we thought we wouldn't be able to finish it. But then again...
The meal was capped off with Peter Luger's signature chocolate coins.
This was indeed the perfect ending to our New York weekend!
We parted ways afterwards as Normie headed to the Alphabet City while Michelle, Abel and I returned to our hotel at Times Square. I just had enough time to rest for a bit and pack up my things before my cousins pick me up.
Next stop: New Jersey :)
