The Red Pyramid

Mythology has always fascinated me. So any book (or series for that matter) about gods and goddesses is a plus. When the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan came out, I was immediately hooked. I loved how Greek mythology was represented in the modern times. I was able to finish the entire series (5 books) in just about a week.

A new series, the Kane Chronicles, by the same author came out a few months after the Percy Jackson series ended and this time, it is about Egyptian mythology. I got a copy of the first book, The Red Pyramid, as soon as it hit the bookstores but with my long list of to be read books, it was only now that I was able to read it. And it is a very good read! I enjoyed the adventures of Carter and Sadie as they discovered their egyptian ancestry. The story is fast-paced and there was not a dull chapter. You can say that it is a page-turner and I found it hard to put down (a good sign that this is indeed a very good book)! One good thing about reading this book just now is I can immediately go on to the second one in the series, The Throne of Fire, which I just got the other day.

It seems it's gonna be another sleepless night!
