I met up with Ochie gurl to fix that thing I wasn't able to do last Monday. In fairness, it went smoothly with no questions asked! Oh, and bibo si Mommy ni Ochie...the directions were correct! Though we got a bit confused about the gas station thing...2 naman kasi pala sya. Good thing manong driver was also familiar with the place. Hahaha. I've finally gotten farther than Trinoma!
After that thing, we went back to Trinoma. Wanting to try something new and not common in the places we usually eat at, lunch was at Five Cows. The spinach and cheese dip appetizer was pretty good! We each got a chicken dish for our main course - Chicken Marsala for me (it was just a bit sweet for my taste but it was still delish) and Chicken Surfer (?) for Ochie. But the real winner is the dessert - Caramel Macadamia Crunch sundae. Yummy! Ochie simply loves caramel and I love macadamias in ice cream so this was the perfect ending to our meal. I liked that it was not too sweet and the crumbled waffle cone generously mixed with the ice cream provided just the right 'crunch'. I'd go back to have this again!
With still a couple of hours to spare (I had to wait while my brother worked at the site), we went around to do some shopping. The good thing about going to Trinoma in the middle of the weekday is there are not much people around! As I told Ochie, the joys of being a bum nga naman!
Without any question, we both wanted to go to Powerbooks to get some new reads. But before heading there, we passed by Marks and Spencer first. I wanted to get some new tops but the pink one I liked didn't have my size. It was Ochie though who was able to buy! I was tempted to get the same purple top (there was one in my size!) but I liked the pink one better. I'll probably try some other branches.
Since I wasn't able to get anything at Marks, I had to make it up in Powerbooks. But unfortunately, nothing interested us :( Ochie was all set to get some new books as well with her GCs (thanks to Celebrating Performance) but even the smut with all the abs didn't interest her. Hahaha. There will be some new releases next week (Michael Scott's The Warlock and Julia Quinn's Just Like Heaven) so maybe we'd have better luck next time!
We went around for a little bit more, checking out some clothes and shoes but I still wasn't able to buy anything (I know, this is so not me)! For the first time, Ochie was the one with a shopping bag while I ended up empty handed. Hahaha. Don't worry, I'll make bawi next time!
This was indeed a fun day for us bums! :)
