After 3 days of non-stop going around, walking, sight-seeing and shopping, today is my rest day. I really didn't have anything planned so there was no pressure to wake up early. As much as I wanted to sleep in late, I was already up by 7am. I tried to get more sleep and eventually went down about an hour later. My cousins were at work today but my uncle was around and as soon as he saw me, he said he can drive me to wherever I wanted to go. Very tempting! I do need to check out some stuff at Walmart and Target for my mom so I took him up for the offer. After buying her stuff, it was just around 12 noon so I decided to go around Menlo Park Mall for a bit while my uncle picks up my niece from school.
I already reached my shopping quota yesterday and there's no more extra space in my luggage (I have to wait until Minnesota for my next shopping spree!) so I just went window shopping and headed to Barnes and Noble to kill time. While browsing thru the new releases section, I remembered that Stephanie Perkins' second book is already out and luckily, it was available (it was the last one already)! So armed with a copy of Lola and the Boy Next Door and a hot cup of Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks, I settled in a window seat at Barnes and enjoyed my lazy afternoon. This is exactly how a relaxing fall day should be :)
