2010...looking back

As I did last year, here's looking back to what happened a year ago...

Where did you begin 2010? For the first time, we broke tradition and didn't spend New Year's at home. With my dad not around anymore, there's no one to light up the fireworks anymore and be all excited with the coming of the new year. So instead we headed to the condo and ushered in the new year with the big countdown at Eastwood.

What was your status by Valentine's Day? Still in a relationship with the same person and loving every second of it! It's our 4th Valentine's and yet, we're still in opposite sides of the world :( This time around he's the one in Minnesota while I'm here in Manila. But nevertheless, we still made vday special for each other. I was on Valentine's high as I got home to a beautiful bouquet of red roses and a pink teddy bear. Love from Minnesota it is! :)

Were you in school anytime this year? Nope. Been done and over with school 9 years ago (waaah! I'm indeed getting old!).

Did you have to go to the hospital? Thank God we were hospital-free for the entire year!

Did you gain or lose weight? Both! And I'm working on losing more this year!

What food did you get to eat the most? Hmmm, nothing in particular this year but we were frequent customers of the restos in Shang and Megamall. As much as possible, we try NOT to have lunch at the mall by our office. Our usual lunch places are Pepper Lunch, Kimono Ken, Cyma, Tender Bob's, Mesa, Racks and Pollo Loco to name a few. Oh, Ochie gurl and I recently frequent Penang Hill for their yummy Roti with curry, Hainanese chicken and asian beef roll thingy.

What alcoholic beverage did you drink the most? I didn't drink that much this year (compared to last year that is) but I did have my share of Tequila, Margarita, Vodka and red wine (Yellow Tail's Shiraz is a regular at home).

What was the best thing someone did for you this year? It would be Lec's surprises, making special occassions more special even if he's not around :)

What movie was your favorite this year? I didn't get to see that much movies as before but my fave would have to be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. A fitting end (almost!) to the series. Can't wait to see the finale.

Where did you go for vacation? For the first time in almost a decade, the entire family went to the US again for a month-long summer vacation. The family bonding was just priceless! One month wasn't enough though as we traveled to California, Las Vegas, New York, New Jersey and Florida. I even squeezed in a quick trip to Minnesota just to see Lec. And to end the year, I went to Hongkong with my officemates and that was also one short but super fun vacay.

What did you purchase that was over $100? Lots! Airline tickets for starters, a couple of Coach bags, Sony Cybershot T1 camera in pink, 6th generation iPod nano (in pink as well), the latest international Amazon Kindle, and my most expensive single-purchase would be my Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Damier Ebene.

Made any new friends? Yup! It's inevitable not to meet new people at work.

Other than home, where did you spend most of your time? Cybergate, the condo at One Orchard Road in Eastwood, Alabang Town Center, Greenbelt, Serendra/Bonifacio High Street, Starbucks!

Did you know anyone who got married? my highschool friend Yasi in August and my cousin just last December. There were also a couple of officemates and friends who tied the knot.

Anybody who passed away? My cousin on valentine's day :(

Have you had any regrets? No regrets! Everything happens for a reason so may it be good or bad, it's part of who I am today and at the least, it's something to learn from.

Have you watched American Idol? Only the auditions. Wasn't able to follow the weekly competition anymore.

Have you gotten sick? Nothing serious...just a slight flu but that didn't stop me from working! I didn't use any of my sick leaves last year.

Describe your birthday? I wanted to keep it simple. I don't usually go on vacation on my birthday so I still went to work. But what made my day special was when a bouquet of 3 dozen pink roses made its way to the office. The best birthday gift ever! Thanks, dear! :)

Your favorite moments? Friday night outs, catching up with Andrea over coffee at Starbucks on the weekends, long-distance calls, surprises from Lec, and out of the country vacations.

Done anything embarrassing? None for this year!

New additions to your family? Yanie, my cousin's new wife.

What was your best month? That would be mid-April to mid-May when the whole family went to the US for our summer vacation. That was also the time when I saw Lec after 7 months!

How old did you turn this year? 28

Do you have a New Year's Resolution? just continue to live, laugh and love! :)

Happy 2011 everyone! :)
