Disarm

Grey's Anatomy is back after the holiday break and I must say, this week's episode (11th for this season) is one of my favorites! It touches a topic very close and traumatizing to the doctors of Seattle Grace as they are again faced with another shooting incident, this time at the local college. The conflict of having to go through that trauma all over again while trying to save the lives of dozens was just so real, especially when one of the lives they had to save was that of the gunman himself. Intense!

Each character got to face their inner demons and though everyone felt like it's happening all over again, they all rose to the occassion and as what Chief Webber said, "we are going to do our work first, and you're gonna have your feelings later".

The scene where the students started singing the college's alma mater outside of the hospital with each one holding a candle really moved me and brought me close to tears! There were also lighter moments in between and the one where Karev body-blocked Stark from getting near the girl's leg was just funny.

And of course, it wouldn't be Grey's without the memorable quotes. My personal favorites are:

"You had to fly across the world to get to me Arizona because you flew a whole world away without ever looking back. You just left. And this might be news to you - no, I think it kinda is - but you're not the only one in this relationship. There are two of us, and you came back today but I didn't." - Callie to Arizona

"Surgery is extreme. We cut into your body, take out the pieces, and put what's left back together. Good thing life doesn't come with a scalpel because if it did, when things started to hurt, we would just cut and cut and cut. The thing is what we take away with a scalpel we can't ever get back. So like I said, good thing." - Merideth

"I love you, so yeah, just take your time. I'll wait." Lexie to Mark

Grey's is one of those few series that just gets better and better as it stays longer. Looking forward to the next episode!
